“Up in the Air” is a true musical journey of the soul. In just 90 minutes, Bill Wadhams makes an indelible connection with his audience through the fascinating and often unexpected details of his constant pursuit of making music his life. So much more than a “one-hit wonder,” Wadhams graciously shares some personal, poignant, and often painful anecdotes of the experiences from his family life and career which helped shaped his lyrics. Beatifically smiling even while singing his beautifully crafted songs of heartache and loss, the feeling of pure love Wadhams has for performing is so palpable, you’ll end up taking some of it home with you. And that’s exactly what Bill wants. (PS, bring tissues)

Writer/Radio PersonalityMy friend and director, Bill Fennelly has devoted much of his time and talent to this project, helping me to shape my stories and songs into a theatrical piece, focusing on family, music, love and the American Dream. I was inspired to sing my story by Benjamin Scheuer – The Lion, and by Bruce Springsteen on Broadway. Thanks to Portland State University professor Justin Hocking for his brilliant classes in writing non-fiction and personal essays. An online class with E.M. Lewis helped me to bring detail to my characters. Thanks to Rick Lewis, composer and musical director, for suggesting that I write a musical, after working with him in Next to Normal at ART.
